The Office of Strategic Analysis is Yale’s internal management consultancy and works on some of the most complex strategic opportunities and challenges facing Yale. The team provides guidance and analysis that enables University leaders to make decisions that best advance Yale’s mission. The team reports to the Provost, Scott Strobel, and benefits from the support and frequent engagement of many other University leaders.

The Swensen Fellows in Strategic Analysis program was established in 2015. The fellowship has a dual mission:

• The Fellowship is intended to staff the Office of Strategic Analysis and help Yale tackle its most complex, strategic challenges. Swensen Fellows help University leaders make data-driven decisions that advance Yale’s mission.
• The world needs more talented and dedicated analytically-minded leaders, and we envision the Fellowship as a training ground for leadership at Yale and beyond. Beyond the initial fellowship, we expect Fellows to assume leadership roles across the University, in other higher education institutions, or in other organizations.
